Buffer preparation skid
Veenbrink RVS designed, produced, validated and installed this buffer preparation skid on site at one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. All with a focus on quality. With an eye for finishing, hygiene, ergonomics and ease of use, this project was delivered to the full satisfaction of the user.
The buffer preparation skid is filled with Water For Injection (WFI) and other raw materials. Powders and solids can be administered through dosing units, in which the substances are ground and mixed with the liquid. Raw materials can also be raised via a freight elevator, where the substances are manually administered through the manhole. The system can be completely cleaned locally thanks to the CIP spray balls and fixed cleaning program with sterilization cycle.
The buffer preparation unit is equipped with all instrumentation for monitoring pressure, temperature, pH and level via load cells. In addition, the buffer vessels are equipped with pneumatic valves, sampling valves, various switches and magnetically driven bottom agitators for a homogeneous product. The applicable ATEX areas have been taken into account.
Of course we comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The buffer vessels are built in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and design code EN 13445. In this context, all required non-destructive tests (NDT) were also performed, such as hydrostatic pressure tests, X-ray examination and penetrant testing. All under the control of an independent Notified Body (NoBo). In addition, additional tests were performed at the request of the end user, such as performing boroscopic weld inspections on the piping, riboflavin testing and measuring the surface roughness. Veenbrink RVS is ISO 3834-2 and NEN-EN 1090-2 certified for the design and production of the platform construction.
